Misericordia University Students Attend Family Service Association Youth in Crisis Conference

Misericordia’s Insalaco Center for Professional Development and Leadership sponsored four students to attend the Family Service Association’s National Family Week Youth in Crisis Conference on November 3. The Thalenfeld Family Charitable Fund presented the event in partnership with AllOne Charities.

From Left to Right: Kara Kelly, Health Care Management, Eleanor Pitcher, Medical & Health Humanities, Madison Moyer, Psychology, and Allison Sudano, Social Work.

As part of its commitment to providing professional development opportunities for students, the center was thrilled to sponsor students from different majors. The students were Kara Kelly, Health Care Management, Madison Moyer, Psychology, Eleanor Pitcher, Medical and Health Humanities and Allison Sudano, Social Work.

All four of these students collaborated with one another on topics relevant to all their majors and fields of interest. Johnna Evans, corporate relations coordinator of the Insalaco Center for Professional Development and Leadership, accompanied them.

In addition to the morning and afternoon keynotes, the students learned from experts on topics such as nutrition insecurity, human trafficking, and youth suicide prevention. Representatives from various organizations and agencies also provided information on their programs and services.

The Family Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania, a not-for-profit, non-sectarian organization, provides diverse services to children, individuals, seniors, and families, empowering them to achieve their full potential through building healthier relationships and stronger communities.
