Misericordia University's Department of Occupational Therapy Presents 'Open Doors Rehab'

DALLAS, PA - Misericordia University's Department of Occupational Therapy is presenting ‘Open Doors Rehab,’ a doctoral capstone to provide courtesy stroke rehabilitation services in Spring 2025.

This program is looking for 6-8 individuals who have experienced a stroke and may benefit from occupational therapy services due to lasting effects. Open Doors Rehab will provide 1-2 individual occupational therapy sessions per participant and one weekly group session to focus on various lifestyle factors related to stroke rehabilitation.

Services will be provided by Caitlin Scully, doctoral occupational therapy student at Misericordia University, with supervision from Misericordia University occupational therapy faculty. Student observers may also be present during clinic sessions with permission from participants.

To qualify for Open Doors Rehab, individuals must have experienced a stroke; be at least 18-years-old; have goals to improve their ability to participate in their meaningful occupations and related tasks; reside within their home; have their own form of transportation to Misericordia University; have exhausted their insurance for occupational therapy services or do not have insurance coverage; and do not require a translator.
