Misericordia University’s Kappa Delta Pi 2024 Inductees
The Misericordia University Teacher Education Department recently inducted nine students and one faculty member into the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society of Education during an induction ceremony recently held in the Mercy Hall Chapel on Thursday, April 4th, 2024, under the advisement of Jodi Loughlin, D.Ed., associate professor of Teacher Education and Misericordia University’s Kappa Delta Pi counselor.
Founded in 1911, the honor society fosters excellence in education and promotes fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. Its mission is to sustain an honored community of diverse educators by promoting excellence and advancing scholarship, leadership, and service.
To be eligible for membership, teacher education majors at Misericordia University must be in their junior or senior year, have been on the dean's list at least twice, have a current overall grade point average of at least 3.4 and be active in professional and service activities.
Teacher education students inducted into Kappa Delta Pi are: Alexis Bialek, Oley, PA; Megan Collins, Sayre, PA; Olivia Eckert, Quakake, PA; Alexandra Gordon, Brooklyn, NY; Elizabeth Kelly, Hamilton, NJ; Ariana Nolter, Coal Twp., PA; Logan Padden, Wilkes-Barre, PA; Kaitlyn Shatzel, Lake Hopatcong, NJ; and Rachel Shook, Noxen, PA. Denise Miles, EdD, assistant professor, was also inducted.
