Misericordia University's 'MU Mile Tour' Connects Alumni and Friends Across Florida
DALLAS, PA - Misericordia University recently brought its Centennial Celebration to the Sunshine State with the 'MU Mile Tour,' a special series of alumni gatherings across Florida. Designed to honor the university's rich history and foster meaningful connections, the tour welcomed Misericordia graduates, parents, and friends for evenings of conversation, camaraderie, and celebration.
The tour made stops in St. Augustine, Tampa, Naples, Boca Raton, Fort Pierce, and Cocoa Beach. Each event featured a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where attendees reminisced about their time at Misericordia and learned about the university's exciting future. Guests also received commemorative MU swag and had the opportunity to participate in silent auctions and raffles, with proceeds supporting student scholarships and other university initiatives.
In St. Augustine, alumni gathered at the Slammer & Squire Golf Course to learn about the impact of the Maria Grilli Gatta '68 Scholarship, which empowers single mothers through the Ruth Matthews Bourger Women with Children Program. Attendees in Tampa enjoyed a lively afternoon at Topgolf, competing in friendly games while reconnecting with fellow alumni.
One of the most anticipated stops was Naples, where guests embarked on a scenic boat cruise aboard The Endless Summer, followed by an exclusive Presidential Update from Misericordia University President Dr. Dan Myers. During his remarks, Dr. Myers reflected on the university's storied past, celebrated its centennial milestone, and shared plans for Misericordia's continued growth.
"The 'MU Mile Tour' was an incredible opportunity to reconnect with our alumni, celebrate 100 years of Misericordia's legacy, and look forward to an exciting future," said President Myers. "The enthusiasm and passion of our Misericordia community were truly inspiring. It was a joy to hear alumni share their stories and see firsthand the deep connections they still have to our university."
In Boca Raton, Fort Pierce, and Cocoa Beach, the celebrations continued, each event bringing together alumni and friends for meaningful conversations and shared memories. The Fort Pierce stop was particularly special, as attendees had the opportunity to cheer on the Misericordia University Cougars during the Florida Coast Classic baseball game against Kenyon College.
As Misericordia University moves forward into its second century, the success of the 'MU Mile Tour' reinforced its strength and dedication of its alumni network. The tour not only honored the university's past but also strengthened bonds for the future, ensuring that the Misericordia spirit continues to thrive for generations to come.
