National Night Out at Misericordia University Brings Community and First Responders Together

DALLAS, PA – The Dallas Township Police Department, in partnership with Misericordia University, hosted a highly successful National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, drawing hundreds of community members for an evening of fun, safety awareness, and relationship-building.

Held in the North Parking Lot of Misericordia University, the event featured an impressive lineup of activities and attractions, including Touch-A-Truck displays from police, fire, and EMS departments, a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter landing and demonstration, and hands-on experiences with emergency vehicles and equipment. Families enjoyed live music from a DJ, children’s games, art tables, and face painting, while a Nintendo gaming trailer offered entertainment for all ages.

Local food vendors provided a variety of delicious options, and informational tables, including Misericordia’s Campus Safety Department, offered resources and safety tips. The event was made possible through the coordinated efforts of Dallas Township Police, Misericordia University Campus Safety, and numerous first responder agencies.

Campus Safety personnel worked closely with Dallas Township Police to ensure smooth operations, including traffic control, safe staging of equipment, and welcoming guests. 

National Night Out at Misericordia University was part of a nationwide initiative promoting police-community partnerships, crime prevention awareness, and neighborhood camaraderie. Organizers look forward to building on the momentum of this year’s event to make future gatherings even more impactful.
