SLP Department Launches Community Outreach Program for Stroke, Aphasia, and Dementia Support

DALLAS, PA - The Misericordia University Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Department has launched a new initiative called SLP-CONNECT (Community Outreach for Navigating Engagement and Communication Together). This monthly program is designed to support caregivers and their loved ones affected by stroke, aphasia, and dementia.

SLP-CONNECT was co-founded by Dr. Chitrali R. Mamlekar, Dr. Kathleen Scaler Scott, and Melissa A. Alunni, with the goal of providing meaningful engagement, education, and a sense of community. The inaugural caregiver-focused session was held on February 26th.

The program features interactive activities, educational discussions, and opportunities to connect with others navigating similar experiences. All sessions are free and open to the community.

For more information or to register for an upcoming session, please contact Dr. Mamlekar at 570-674-8047 or email slpconnect@misericordia.edu.
