Students Explore Pre-Medical Health Professions at Misericordia University
DALLAS, PA - A strong foundation in the sciences and the research opportunities available at Misericordia University provide an excellent preparation for allopathic and osteopathic medical schools as well as other health professional programs including dentistry, optometry, physician assistance, and veterinary medicine.
In November, Misericordia hosted 'Health Professions Day.' Students participated in interactive stations, activities, and tours of on-campus labs and facilities. Participants included diagnostic medical sonography, healthcare administration, medical imaging, nursing, occupational therapy, physician's assistant, physical therapy, pre-medicine, social work, and speech-language pathology.
Later in the month, students interested in learning about osteopathic medicine, physician assistant studies, and biomedical sciences met with Join Kevin A. Zajac, Associate Director of Admissions at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, to explore the many programs offered at PCOM.
The Misericordia University College of Health Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a Medical Specialization as one option for students who intend to seek entry into graduate programs in the health professions. To learn more, click here.
