Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing

• You must have at least 60 college credits from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.75.
• You must not have any disciplinary action against you by any other nursing program including but not limited to academic (probation, dismissal, etc.) or behavioral.
• If you already have a Bachelor’s degree, core courses are waived (but prerequisites still apply).
• If you are a currently licensed LPN you are required to complete the NLN exam before you begin your nursing courses.

Students who have evidence of 1000 hours of employment as an LPN within the last 3 years are eligible for advanced placement nursing credits with a passing score or 78% or higher on the NLN Foundations of Nursing NACE NLN exam.

Examinations are provided by NLN prior to the semester in which the course would be offered, and students receive one opportunity to take each examination.

Advanced Placement examination credits are only applicable to the nursing major and are not calculated in the GPA and may only be taken by LPN-holding students already admitted to the program.

The ABSN program begins every January with a new cohort.

Students not holding a prior bachelor’s degree must complete non-Nursing requirements such as core curriculum courses prior to cohort entry.

Students may enter the program at the pre-cohort level in any of three terms: Fall, Spring or Summer.

The ABSN program is considered a hybrid program, with lab and clinical placements being held primarily on weekends. Lecture content will be presented online.

*Note: Any of these courses older than 7 years must be retaken.
