ABSN Program Admissions Overview
Enrolling in Misericordia University’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program can get you on the fast track to a new career in nursing — but first, you must meet the ABSN admissions requirements. Once you fulfill the requirements, you can apply for a start date in January, May, or August.

After completing the online form on our website, one of our admissions counselors will schedule a call or a meeting to discuss your academic qualifications and professional goals. During this conversation, your counselor can also answer any questions you have about our program and help you determine if it’s a good match for you. -
Make an Academic Plan

Your admissions counselor will help you devise a plan to stay on track for your target start date in the ABSN program — January, May, or August.

Complete the Prerequisites
While you don’t need any prior experience working in health care or nursing to apply, you do need to meet our academic requirements. Register for and take all the necessary prerequisite courses, passing with a grade of “C” or higher. -
Apply to the ABSN Program
Complete the ABSN program application online, making sure to submit:

Your online application to Misericordia University.

Your official transcripts from each regionally accredited school you’ve attended.
Please note that while our Nursing Department doesn’t charge an application fee, you are required to pay for a drug test, a background check, immunizations, and other related health screenings prior to entering the ABSN program.

- Is it hard to get in to the program? What are the requirements?
Our ABSN program has no waitlist and offers three start dates to make applying to nursing school more accessible. We require our students to have at least 30 credits from a regionally accredited institution. Our ABSN requirements page has a full list of program requirements. - How much does the program cost?
Our ABSN program is $1,166 per credit hour, with 54 nursing major credit hours required to complete the program. We currently offer a scholarship to students. - Do I need to complete prereqs before applying?
Depending on your educational background, you may need to complete some prerequisite courses before beginning your ABSN coursework. Prereqs need to be completed with a grade of “C” or higher.
