Summary Plan Descriptions

Misericordia University is required to annually provide you and your beneficiaries with important information about your benefits; no action is required. A Benefit Summary Plan Description (SPD) is a comprehensive document which advises plan participants and their beneficiaries of their rights and obligations under the plan. The document provides a basic written source of data to employees and their beneficiaries on plan benefits requirements for obtaining benefits and limitations on benefits.
Your receipt or review of this Summary does not mean you are eligible for or participating in these benefit plans. You must first meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD) for each Plan and be enrolled.
Employees who would prefer to receive the required Benefit Notices in hard copy should notify the Human Resources Department at firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions regarding these notices or eligibility for these benefits may be directed to the Human Resources Department.
