Physical Therapy Club students volunteer at Veterans Affairs Medical Center's Veterans Salute Ceremony

Misericordia University students in the Physical Therapy Club recently volunteered at the Wilkes-Barre Veterans Affairs Medical Center's annual Veterans Salute Ceremony.

Misericordia University students enrolled in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program assisted patients at the facility by helping them get from their rooms to the program. They also served them lunch while getting to know them by listening to their life stories.

The following Misericordia University students participated in the volunteer program: Caitlin Cromley, Jersey Shore, Pa.; Jomar Farrales, Cranston, R.I.; Dennis Halpin, New Hartford, N.Y.; Tyler Hess, McClure, Pa.; D.J. Kelleher, Sayre, Pa.; Danica Kuti, Landing, N.J.; Gabby Lamanna, Hillsborough, N.J.; Bethany Raudenbush, Hellertown, Pa., and Dayna Richter, Dingmans Ferry, Pa.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Misericordia University is a 6½-year professional program in which students receive a bachelor's degree and a doctor of physical therapy degree. Undergraduate students complete the requirements for their bachelor's degree during their first 3½ years of study in programs like biology, business administration, health care management, psychology, sport management, and more. Students accepted into the Misericordia program as first-year students are guaranteed to progress into the graduate program as long as they are in good academic standing.

Misericordia also accepts transfer students into the doctoral program. Academically qualified students with a bachelor's degree can complete the doctorate degree in three years.
