Jamaica Service Trip

Jamaica Service Trip: This trip has been a part of Misericordia’s Campus Ministry program for over 10 years . This trip takes place in January over Winter break for one week. The course is held in the Fall Semester. Students stay in the diocese of Mandeville (mountain area) of Jamaica. The students travel as a group visiting different service sites and interacting with the Jamaican people and are immersed in the Jamaican culture. Students have the opportunity to visit children with severe disabilities, children with HIV, visit a veterans home, visit with the elderly abandoned people, and a boys orphanage. They also work at a preschool, do home visits with the homebound, or spend the day painting and doing some physical labor. The group is hosted by the Diocese of Mandeville.
