Overview and Highlights
- 6-½ year professional program resulting in a bachelor’s degree and a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree
- Students can choose from a variety of disciplines for undergraduate study (pre-DPT)
- Students accepted into the pre-DPT program as freshmen are guaranteed progression into the DPT program as long as academic criteria are met; there is no need to re-apply to the graduate phase of the program.

DPT Entry Options
First Year
A student accepted at the first year level completes 6-1/2 years of study, resulting in a bachelor’s degree and a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree. During the first 3-1/2 years, the student completes the requirements for a bachelor’s degree in an area of the student’s choice.
Students accepted into the pre-DPT program at the first year level are guaranteed progression into the graduate DPT program, as long as academic criteria are met. Click here for academic criteria for progression.
Post-Baccalaureate
Graduate students are admitted into the graduate DPT program that begins in the spring semester on a space-available basis. Students who currently attend Misericordia University and who wish to apply for admission into the DPT program will be evaluated along with external applicants. Admission to the Physical Therapy major is not guaranteed, and is on a space available basis.
