Pre-Medical Health Profession
A strong foundation in the sciences and the research opportunities available at Misericordia University provide an excellent preparation for allopathic and osteopathic medical schools as well as other health professional programs including dentistry, optometry, physician assistance, and veterinary medicine. Your faculty advisor will help you transform your interest in a medical career into an individualized path to success. They will help you to identify the courses to take, the extra-curricular activities in which to participate, and connect you to research opportunities that will put you in the best possible position to achieve your goal.
A successful application to medical, dental, optometry, physician's assistant, or veterinary schools takes careful planning during your undergraduate education. Because many of the classes need to be taken sequentially, planning your coursework must begin as you enroll at Misericordia University. Throughout your years at Misericordia, you should work closely with an advisor who specializes in preparing students for this type of graduate education to ensure that you have the necessary course work and experiences to prepare you to achieve your goal.
