You have earned the honor of participating in these ceremonies, and your presence at these events is vital. Commencement Keynote Speakers
Mary C. Boys, SNJM
The graduate ceremony will honor Mary C. Boys, SNJM, with a Doctor of Humane letter during the ceremony with her keynote speech to the students. Sr. Mary Boys, a Seattle native, is the Skinner and McAlpin Professor of Practical Theology at Union Theological Seminary, New York City, and its former Academic Vice-President and Dean.
R. Scott Appleby
During the undergraduate ceremony, a Doctor of Humane letter will be honored to R. Scott Appleby, a Professor of History and the Marilyn Keough Dean of the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences, Appleby (Ph.D. University of Chicago) is the recipient of four honorary degrees.
